Jean-Pierre Lorand was born in Valenciennes (France), but lives in Brussels, city where studied at the Saint Luc Institute.
He works in publicity as a creative designer, and describes himself as a self-taught painter. He developed a slightly candid artistic expression,
which presents a fine stroke and great quality, along with an uncommon pictorial rigor.
Trough his art, Jean-Pierre Lorand shares with us simple stories full of freshness, luminosity and poetry. His paintings structure themselves
on their own compositions, wich transport us to the time and place where each scene is generated.
Since 1977 he has been frequently exhibiting, in galleries and cultural events in Belgium and many other European countries,
as well as in the USA, Japan and Israël. We also highlight his participation in the "100 ans d'Art Plastique en Belgique, d'hier à Aujourd'hui,
in the Benezit Grund, as well the philatelic works he developed for the Belgium Postal Services.
