1921 Born in Duisburg, Germany, Nanuk moved to Brazil in 1934, when only 13 years old, to live in Rolandia, in the northern part of the state of Parana. Married, she is mother of five, and grandmother of twelve. Worked as a journalist and radio producer in Rolandia and Londrina. Her move to Sao Paulo in 1970, where she lives since then, marked her definitive involvement with painting, while in parallel working as an illustrator of childrens’ books and textbooks.
Since 1979, Nanuk has devoted her time exclusively to painting, developing an individual, independent style. Her skill in combining colors reveals her high sensitivity and ability in conveying the excitement and emotions of life.
